My sister and I went on a backpacking trip in the remote Jarbidge Wilderness in northern Nevada. This is Jarbidge Lake and we hiked by it on our first day on our way to the larger Emerald Lake. This lake is pretty shallow, but it made a nice spot to stop for a snack. This view is from the trail as we hiked up over a pass to reach the next lake. Backpacking in Jarbidge is quite an experience as it is extremely remote. The town of Jarbidge is tiny and is a three hour drive mostly on dirt roads from the nearest town.

I became fascinated with photography as a teenager while spending my summers with my grandmother in Montana. There I was inspired by the great sweeping landscapes and the beautiful evening light. I was hooked and my parents were kind enough to buy me my first real camera. I have since spent countless hours exploring with my various cameras and learning in the field. My home is now in Elko, Nevada. One of my favorite things to do is go exploring around this part of Nevada with my camera. I love to capture elements of the beautiful, diverse, and wild area that I am lucky to call home. Thanks for visiting!
