Description
There were a couple of these old irrigation gates near Sunflower Reservoir. The iron parts were apparently made by Joshua Hendy Machine Works, which was based in Sunnyvale, California and closed in the 1940's.

Great picture! I found a great article about the history of Gold Creek NV. and Sunflower Reservoir written in 1957. The article starts on Pare 17. Tuns out those are not irrigation gates…….. http://www.dezertmagazine.com/mine/1957DM02/index.html

One of those very beautiful photos I would never have thought to take - and I love that it documents history, too. Well seen and presented.

It's good to see an interesting historic find and such lovely colors.

Thank you Barbie. It was really fun coming upon this gate during my early morning walk.

This is a lovely landscape with the added interest of the old irrigation machinery. Nice work! L/F
