Description
This is out at the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Reserve, which around here is better known as the Ruby Marshes. I had headed out there to try taking pictures of birds. I hadn't been out for too long when the sky started to turn black. I started taking pictures, then I realized that I was by far the tallest object anywhere around and I should probably high tail it back to my car. Boy was that a good decision! I got soaked on the way back to the car, but at least I got there before the lightning started. Luckily the storm passed pretty quickly and I was able to get out and get some bird photos after all.

Thanks Laurie! There was so little color in the original shot that I figured this one would convert well to black and white.
